I have just joined this site. I have uploaded 7 pictures for the competition 6 of which are waiting for approval. The last one I uploaded has been approved. Not sure what is happening, do i need to notify someone?

No. I see all uploaded pictures. When the contest will start - pictures will be approved to contest.
